We’ve recently enhanced TGC’s bespoke management platform with direct integration into DVSA vehicle data, giving the business a smarter and more automated way to manage its fleet.
The new functionality brings important vehicle information directly into TGC’s existing system, removing the need to manually check multiple external services and helping the team maintain an accurate, up-to-date picture of every vehicle within the fleet.
Automated MOT and Vehicle Information
Using DVSA data, the system can retrieve and monitor key information associated with vehicles across the TGC fleet, including MOT status and history.
Rather than relying on individual manual checks, this information is brought directly into the platform and associated with the relevant vehicle record, making important compliance information readily available to the people who need it.

Tracking Vehicle Safety Recalls
An important part of the development was the integration of vehicle safety recall information.
The system can identify recall information relating to vehicles within the fleet, helping TGC proactively identify potential safety issues and giving the business greater visibility over vehicles that may require attention.
For a commercial fleet, having this information available centrally provides another valuable layer of oversight alongside existing vehicle management and maintenance processes.

Telematics Integration
We have also integrated telematics data into the platform, allowing information from TGC’s vehicles to become part of the wider management and reporting system.
By combining telematics information with DVSA vehicle data and TGC’s existing operational records, the platform provides a much more complete view of the fleet.
Instead of vehicle information existing across separate systems, data can be brought together, processed and presented in a way that is useful to the business.
Turning Data Into Useful Information
The real value of the project isn't simply connecting to external APIs. It's what TGC can now do with the information.
By integrating DVSA and telematics data directly into its bespoke platform, we have been able to automate data collection, improve reporting and give TGC greater visibility over its vehicles.
It is another example of how bespoke software and API integration can take information that would normally sit across several different services and turn it into something genuinely useful for day-to-day operations.
For TGC, that means a more connected approach to fleet management, with vehicle tracking, MOT information, safety recall data and operational reporting working together within one system.
